SigenMate 2700 Ultra FAQ
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions about SigenMate 2700 Ultra. Learn more about how it works, how it connects with your home energy system, and how it helps optimize your electricity use.
Energy Savings & Smart Control
How does SigenMate 2700 Ultra help me save on electricity costs with solar energy?
With traditional microinverters, any excess solar energy may be wasted when there is no load consuming it. SigenMate 2700 Ultra connects the battery on the DC side, so even when there is no load on the AC side, surplus PV energy can first be stored in the battery and then accurately released when there is demand later. This significantly improves solar energy utilization and helps reduce dependence on expensive grid electricity, directly supporting electricity cost savings.
Can SigenMate 2700 Ultra still be used and help optimize electricity costs without solar panels or solar generation?
Yes. Even without solar power, SigenMate can still help optimize electricity costs through time-of-use energy management. In areas with dynamic electricity tariffs or peak/off-peak price differences, SigenMate can charge the battery from the grid during low-price periods. During high-price periods, it can then prioritize using the lower-cost energy stored in the battery, enabling “buy low, use high” electricity cost optimization.
To use this function, enable TOU Mode or AI Mode in the app. The system will automatically track electricity price trends and perform precise scheduling to help reduce your electricity bill.
What is Sigen AI Mode and how does it optimize household energy use?
After AI Mode is enabled, the system runs in maximum self-consumption mode for the first 7 days to record and learn the user’s household energy consumption patterns. After that, it combines actual home consumption data, PV generation forecasts, weather data, and dynamic electricity tariffs to automatically create and optimize charging and discharging strategies.
This enables “buy low, sell high” energy optimization while reducing electricity costs and maximizing solar self-consumption. The system updates its optimization strategy every 60 minutes and executes energy storage operations every 15 minutes, ensuring that it continuously adapts to the latest energy conditions.
If multiple SigenMate energy storage units are connected in one system, how will they distribute and consume energy?
The usage logic is the same as with a single unit and depends on the operating mode selected in the app. Multiple SigenMate units will operate as one integrated system and automatically share the charging and discharging power.

Does SigenMate support microinverter connection? How many microinverters are supported, and where should they be connected?
Yes, SigenMate supports microinverter connection. Due to regulatory limitations, it is recommended to connect only one microinverter, and its power should not exceed the legal limit for plug-in devices, for example 800 W.
The microinverter can be connected to any AC socket. Both Sigenergy’s own microinverters and third-party microinverters are supported.
Does SigenMate support connecting a microinverter and loads at the same time?
Yes. However, if a third-party microinverter is connected and the load is a critical load that must not lose power, it is recommended to add a smart plug at the third-party microinverter connection point. This allows the system to safely control the microinverter during a grid outage and helps prevent critical loads from accidentally losing power when the microinverter starts or stops.
If you use a Sigenergy microinverter, no additional smart plug is required, as the system can automatically coordinate and control the connection.
Power, Capacity & System Expansion
What is the maximum power of each MPPT port? Can I connect solar panels that exceed the rated power?
The maximum power of each MPPT port is 1000 W. You can connect PV modules that exceed the rated power.
What is the maximum charging power through the PV ports of SigenMate 2700 Ultra?
The maximum PV charging power depends on the number of battery packs connected:
- Main unit only: maximum 1.8 kW
- With 1 external battery pack: maximum 3.6 kW
- With 2 or more external battery packs: maximum 4.0 kW
Can I add or remove external battery packs? Can new and old battery packs be connected to the same system?
Yes. Before adding or removing external battery packs, the system must be powered off and all external terminals must be disconnected. Do not perform this operation while the system is live.
The system supports using new and old battery packs together in the same system.
What size of appliances can be connected to the AC sockets of the backup ports?
The power limit depends on whether the system is operating in grid-connected mode or off-grid backup mode.
- When SigenMate is grid-connected, the two backup ports support a combined maximum power of 3600 W. However, if you plan to connect an appliance above 2800 W to the backup output, please make sure that your home wiring can support the load and purchase a higher-power AC grid cable through official channels.
- During grid-to-off-grid switching, the maximum off-grid output power depends on the number of SigenMate units connected in parallel. One SigenMate supports up to 1400 W off-grid output power; two SigenMate units connected in parallel with the parallel cable support up to 2800 W; three SigenMate units connected in parallel with the parallel cable support up to 3600 W.
